Plot: The story starts out 5 year old Danni Jennings wakes up to find her best friend, 7 year old Blake Hawkins at her window. She lets him in, since his mom and her boyfriend are drunk and fighting. They lay in bed and Blake asks Danni if they're going to be friends forever, she says yeah. Then it opens ten years later and a punk-ish, 15 year old version of Danni is getting ready to work at a local, Coos Bay, Oregon diner. While working she see's 17 year old Blake come in. They haven't hung out since Blake went to middle school and started to play football, now he plays varsity for Sunset High. At first Blake doesn't recognize Danni and her new look, but she tells him who she is. After talking for a while, Danni invites Blake to go to a party with her that night, he accepts. They get to talking, about their alcoholic parents that had been one of the reasons they had been so close to begin with, why they stopped hanging out, everything. Now that the two friends are reunited they become just as close as they used to be, realizing how much their problems have grown without each other to lean on. But Danni and Blake aren't five and seven anymore, and the physical attraction eventually builds and with it the tension came. One night after a party, the two get to talking, until finally they kiss. That sparks a whirlwind relationship. Though, old problems become bigger, especially when Danni is beaten by her dad one night then gets kicked out. So Danni and Blake then make a plan to run off together, to go to Alaska and start a new life. So that's a quick version of the plot, what do you think? Any title ideas? Thanks!!... Read More »
